The Edo State Police Command has appointed ASP Eno Nkereuwem Ikoedem as its new Public Relations Officer, following approval by Inspector‑General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. The announcement was made by the Command’s Admin Officer, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema, in a statement released on Monday. Ikoedem, a native of Akwa Ibom State, makes history as the first female spokesperson for the Edo Police Command, succeeding former Public Relations Officer Moses Yamu.

Ikoedem holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English at the National Open University of Nigeria. Her educational foundation is complemented by specialized police training, including the Combat Operation and Counter‑Terrorism Course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, the Citizenship and Leadership Training, and the Forensic Analysis Course on Basic Crime Scene Management. These qualifications have equipped her with the skills needed for the demands of her new role.

Before her appointment as Public Relations Officer, Ikoedem served as Deputy PPRO to two consecutive spokespersons in the Command. Her experience in both operational and administrative capacities has been marked by professionalism, discipline, and adaptability, with her ability to handle demanding tasks consistently noted throughout her career.

The appointment of ASP Ikoedem brings a fresh perspective to the position and underscores the police force’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Her blend of academic credentials, specialized training, and practical experience makes her an ideal candidate, and she is expected to make a positive impact as the first female spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command.
