The Edo State Police Command has appointed a new Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Nkereuwem Ikoedem, following approval by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. This announcement was made by the Command’s Admin Officer, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema, in a statement released on Monday.
ASP Ikoedem, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, makes history as the first female spokesperson for the Edo Police Command. She succeeds Moses Yamu, the former Public Relations Officer. Ikoedem holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English at the National Open University of Nigeria.
With a robust educational background, ASP Ikoedem has also undergone specialized training in various aspects of policing. Her training includes the Combat Operation and Counter-Terrorism Course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, as well as the Citizenship and Leadership Training and Forensic Analysis Course on Basic Crime Scene Management. These qualifications have equipped her with the necessary skills to handle the demands of her new role.
Prior to her appointment as the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ikoedem served as the Deputy PPRO to two consecutive spokespersons in the Command. Her experience in operational and administrative roles within the Police Force has been marked by professionalism, discipline, and adaptability. Her ability to handle demanding tasks effectively has been noted throughout her career.
