The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State has successfully conducted its state congress, resulting in the election of new state and local executives. The congress, which took place on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, saw the emergence of new leaders to manage the party’s administrative affairs.

According to the re-elected Osun NNPP Chairman, Dr. Oluwatosin Odeyemi, the election was a testament to the confidence placed in the leadership by party members. Dr. Odeyemi expressed appreciation to the electoral committee and party members, urging leaders and members to act with integrity, support the executives, and mobilize for the party’s success.

The party has also announced its plan to hold its primary election for the 2026 Osun governorship race on December 13, 2025. The new state and local executives were elected through a voice vote coordinated by the electoral committee, which was chaired by Adedayo Adeyemi. The committee ensured a free and fair process, with delegates conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the exercise.

The newly elected state officers include Dr. Tosin Odeyemi as Chairman, Otunba Adekunle Abolade as Deputy State Chairman, Ismail Oladeji as State Secretary, and others. The electoral committee chairman, Adedayo Adeyemi, urged the newly elected leaders to uphold the oath they had taken and work diligently for the progress of the party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was represented at the congress by Ishola Olakunle and Abajesude Modupeola, who monitored the election process to ensure its credibility. The successful conduct of the congress is a significant step towards the party’s preparations for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
