Why I switched from music to comedy - Klint Da Drunk

Nigerian comedian Klint Da Drunk recently explained why he abandoned a music career for comedy during an interview with Naija FM Lagos. While studying at the Institute of Management Technology in Enugu, he initially pursued music, even featuring on rapper Mr Raw’s hit “Obodo” and co‑founding a music group that placed as runners‑up in the 2002 Star Quest talent show. However, after watching fellow student 2Face perform at a campus event, Klint realized that music might not be his true calling. He had been scheduled to perform at the same event but chose not to, impressed by 2Face’s talent. This moment prompted him to reassess his goals and ultimately shift to comedy, a decision he now says he has no regrets about.

Since making the switch, Klint Da Drunk has built a successful comedy career, securing roles in more than a dozen Nollywood films, including “Men On The Run,” “Madam 10/10,” “Fast Cash,” and “Lost Kingdom.” His story underscores the importance of self‑awareness and adaptability when choosing a career path. By exploring different avenues and finding the right fit, Klint has become a prominent figure in Nigerian comedy, and his continued success suggests his career will keep evolving and growing.
