Trump touts economic successes in national address

US President Donald Trump delivered a prime-time address to the nation, highlighting his administration’s accomplishments in domestic policy, economy, border enforcement, and foreign policy. Speaking from the White House, Trump claimed that his administration had rapidly reversed the economic decline, border chaos, and global instability inherited from his predecessor.

Trump cited declines in the cost of gasoline, groceries, air travel, and housing-related expenses, arguing that wages were now rising faster than inflation for the first time in years. He also emphasized his administration’s efforts to secure the southern border, stating that executive action had led to a dramatic turnaround. The president credited tariffs as a central pillar of his economic strategy, saying they had driven record investment back into the United States and fueled job creation.

On foreign policy, Trump asserted that his administration had achieved significant successes, including the elimination of the “Iranian nuclear threat” and the bringing of peace to the Middle East. He described the US military as the strongest in the world and announced a one-time “Warrior Dividend” payment to over one million service members.

Trump also outlined plans for sweeping tax cuts, prescription drug price reductions, healthcare reform, and aggressive energy expansion. He declared that the US was entering an economic boom, driven by his administration’s policies. The president pledged to always “put America first” and stated that the country was once again respected globally.

The address comes as the US prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next year. Trump’s administration has faced various challenges, including rising tensions with Venezuela and efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict, which were not mentioned in the address. The president’s speech aimed to highlight his administration’s accomplishments and outline his vision for the country’s future.
