Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, have successfully executed a long-range ambush, disrupting a terrorist logistics network and neutralizing several insurgents. The operation took place in the early hours of December 21, 2025, according to a statement by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of logistics supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP elements, troops deployed to a designated interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of December 20, 2025. At approximately 2:24 a.m. on December 21, suspected terrorists arrived at the location, conveying logistics materials on bicycles, confirming earlier intelligence reports. The troops, positioned in concealed and coordinated formations, engaged the terrorists decisively.
During the confrontation, 17 terrorists were neutralized, while others managed to escape with gunshot injuries. A significant quantity of logistical items was recovered from the scene, including bicycles, food items, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, torchlights, and other assorted items, as well as weapons of different calibres and ammunition.
The success of this operation highlights the ongoing effectiveness of intelligence-driven, joint security operations in weakening terrorist networks and disrupting their supply chains. The collaboration between troops and local vigilante groups has proven to be a crucial factor in the success of these operations. The Joint Task Force’s ability to gather and act on credible intelligence has allowed them to target and disrupt key terrorist logistics networks, ultimately weakening their ability to operate effectively.
The operation is part of a broader effort to counter the threat posed by terrorist groups in the region. The use of long-range ambushes and targeted operations has become a key tactic in disrupting terrorist supply chains and logistical networks. As the security situation continues to evolve, the success of such operations will be crucial in maintaining momentum and ultimately achieving stability in the region.
