Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working together with local vigilante groups, carried out a successful long‑range ambush that disrupted a terrorist logistics network and neutralized several insurgents. The operation took place in the early hours of 21 December 2025, according to Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force.
Acting on credible intelligence about the movement of supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP elements, the forces deployed to a pre‑designated interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of 20 December 2025. At approximately 02:24 a.m. on 21 December, suspected terrorists arrived, transporting logistics materials on bicycles, confirming the earlier intelligence reports.
Positioned in concealed, coordinated formations, the troops engaged the terrorists decisively. Seventeen insurgents were neutralized, while others escaped with gunshot injuries. A substantial cache of logistical items was recovered, including bicycles, food, drugs, medical supplies, detergents, clothing, torchlights, assorted equipment, as well as weapons of various calibres and ammunition.
The operation underscores the effectiveness of intelligence‑driven, joint security actions in weakening terrorist networks and disrupting their supply chains. Collaboration between the troops and local vigilante groups proved crucial to this success. The Joint Task Force’s ability to gather and act on credible intelligence enables it to target key terrorist logistics networks, thereby diminishing the groups’ operational capabilities.
This ambush forms part of a broader effort to counter the threat posed by terrorist groups in the region. Long‑range ambushes and targeted operations have become essential tactics for disrupting terrorist supply lines. As the security situation evolves, the continued success of such operations will be vital for maintaining momentum and achieving lasting stability in the area.
