Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to ₦739 Per Litre Nationwide

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has initiated a nationwide sales campaign, offering Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, at a reduced price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations. This move is part of the company’s effort to deliver affordable fuel to Nigerians and stabilise the downstream petroleum market. With a network of over 2,000 MRS stations, the refinery aims to make the new pricing accessible to consumers nationwide.

The price reduction is seen as a significant milestone in the refinery’s mission to provide affordable fuel and is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s economic recovery. The company has commended marketers who have adopted the new pricing regime and urged others to follow suit. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has also guaranteed a daily supply of 50 million litres, which is expected to alter the supply dynamics during the holiday period.

By refining locally on a large scale, the refinery is reducing Nigeria’s exposure to volatile global markets, conserving foreign exchange, stabilising the Naira, and strengthening energy security. This sustained price cut and steady supply are providing relief to households, businesses, and transport operators nationwide.

However, the refinery has warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity in response to the price reduction. The company has called on government agencies to take firm action against such practices, particularly during the festive period. Consumers have been advised to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices and to report any MRS station selling above the approved price by contacting the refinery’s customer service.

The refinery has reaffirmed its commitment to steady supply, price moderation, and energy security, emphasizing that its operations are anchored on long-term national interest rather than short-term market pressures. The company’s objective is to ensure consistent supply of high-quality petroleum products at affordable prices for Nigerians, while supporting economic stability and reducing dependence on imports. With this initiative, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is taking a significant step towards achieving its goal of delivering affordable fuel to Nigerians and stabilising the downstream petroleum market.
