Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially welcomed several National Assembly members who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. The governor described their decision as courageous and forward-looking, noting that it represents a commitment to the progress of Rivers State and Nigeria.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Boniface Onyedi, the defectors include two senators, Allwell Onyesoh and Barinada Mpigi, as well as several members of the House of Representatives, including Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, and Blessing Amadi. The governor commended them for aligning with earlier defectors who had joined the APC in support of his administration.

Fubara noted that the lawmakers’ decision is a strong validation of his own decision to join the APC and signals the emergence of a united political front aimed at integrating Rivers State into the center of national governance.
