Kaduna ADC Disowns Tijani Ahmed’s Leadership Claim

Coalition: ADC presents membership cards to David Mark, Aregbesola

The Kaduna State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress has issued a warning to the public and party members to be cautious of individuals claiming to be leaders of the party in the state. This comes after an alleged inauguration of state executives, which the party has deemed illegal and misleading.

According to the party, no such inauguration was conducted by the legitimate leadership of the ADC in Kaduna State. Furthermore, a former vice chairman, Tijani Ahmed, who led the purported inauguration, has been expelled from the party due to allegations of extortion and anti-party activities.

In a statement released on Saturday, Alex Tagwai, the state Publicity Secretary of the ADC, clarified that claims of a court granting Tijani Ahmed the right to act as chairman of the party in Kaduna State are false. The party has challenged the legitimacy of Ahmed’s leadership, stating that he is not recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or the national secretariat of the party.

Tagwai emphasized that Ahmed lacks the legal authority to assume the position of chairman, saying, “If so, Tijjani Ahmed should present the legal document that gives him the power to assume the position of chairman of the party in the state.” The party’s statement aims to set the record straight and caution against misleading speculations.

The ADC’s warning highlights the importance of verifying information and being aware of potential impostors. The party’s leadership has urged members and the public to be vigilant and to seek clarification from authorized sources. As the situation unfolds, the party’s national secretariat and INEC will likely play a crucial role in resolving the dispute and ensuring the legitimacy of the party’s leadership in Kaduna State.

The African Democratic Congress is a significant political party in Nigeria, and the events unfolding in Kaduna State may have implications for the party’s overall structure and operations. The party’s ability to address internal conflicts and maintain transparency will be essential in maintaining the trust of its members and the public. As the situation develops, it is likely that further statements and actions will be taken to resolve the dispute and ensure the party’s continued stability.
