Wike Reveals Tinubu’s 2023 Election Victory Secret

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has attributed President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election in Rivers State to the significant role played by the Ikwerre people. During his Christmas outreach visit to Emohua and Ikwerre local government areas, Wike emphasized the importance of the Ikwerre community’s support in delivering the votes that secured Tinubu’s win in the state.

Wike’s statement comes as he reflected on the political landscape and the commitment of his group to President Tinubu’s administration. He cautioned against what he described as “new supporters” who have begun to rallying behind the president, emphasizing the need for consistency and respect for earlier agreements. According to Wike, genuine support is demonstrated during challenging times, not when success is already assured.

The minister reminded the Ikwerre community of the risks they took by standing with Tinubu when his chances of winning were uncertain. He noted that the votes from Ikwerre areas were instrumental in Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State, highlighting the community’s commitment to the president’s mandate. Wike stressed that real commitment means standing firm when challenges are high, not when everything has become easy.

Wike also touched on the issue of regional representation, stating that the South must be allowed to complete eight years in power, regardless of political party. He urged everyone to support President Tinubu to succeed, emphasizing that the region’s tenure will be completed through the president’s administration. After 2031, when the South has completed its tenure, the region will then decide on its next steps, according to Wike.

The minister’s statement sheds light on the political dynamics at play in Nigeria, particularly in the context of regional representation and party loyalty. As the country navigates its political landscape, Wike’s comments highlight the importance of consistency and commitment in political relationships. With the South set to complete its tenure through President Tinubu’s administration, the region’s next steps will be closely watched, both domestically and internationally.
