Brain Tumor Patient Seeks N18m For Surgery

Brain tumor

A 24-year-old nursing graduate, Blessing Enegho, is seeking financial assistance to undergo a life-saving surgery for a brain tumor. According to a document sent by her church, the Catholic Church of Transfiguration, Laity, in Ogun State, Enegho was diagnosed with the condition in November, just a few months after completing her nursing training in April.

The brain tumor, which may be benign or malignant, has caused Enegho significant pain and discomfort since her diagnosis. A brain tumor is an abnormal growth of cells in or around the brain, which can be primary or secondary, originating in the brain or spreading from another part of the body. Common symptoms of brain tumors include persistent headaches, seizures, vision problems, and changes in personality or behavior.

Enegho’s laboratory test report from Afriglobal Medicare laboratory indicated features suggestive of Meningioma with obstructive non-communicating hydrocephalus. Her church is appealing for financial support to help her undergo the necessary surgery, which requires a total of N18million. Contributions can be made to the church’s account at Zenith Bank, with account number 1013348985 and account name Catholic Church of Transfiguration, Laity.

Brain tumors can have severe effects on an individual’s quality of life, and timely medical intervention is crucial for effective treatment. The condition requires a comprehensive treatment plan, which may include surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy, depending on the type and severity of the tumor. In Enegho’s case, the urgent need for life-saving surgery highlights the importance of accessing prompt medical care.

As Enegho awaits the necessary funds for her surgery, her situation underscores the challenges faced by individuals and families in accessing healthcare services, particularly in cases requiring significant financial resources. The appeal for financial assistance serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and the need for accessible healthcare options for those in need.
