The Adamawa State Government has advised successful applicants for civil service positions to remain calm and await their employment letters, which will be sent to their personal email addresses. This guidance follows the discovery of irregularities in the issuance of appointment letters, including reports that fake offers were being given to unsuccessful candidates.
The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission had originally planned to issue authentic appointment messages on December 31, 2025, but the release has been delayed. Permanent Secretary Abubakar Maiha explained that the postponement is unavoidable and that the commission is working to ensure genuine letters are dispatched before the end of the week.
In a press address, Secretary to the Adamawa State Government Awwal Tukur revealed that the recruitment process had been compromised by job racketeers who issued letters to unqualified candidates. Tukur assured the public that such letters would be invalid and that only electronically‑sent letters to qualified candidates via their personal emails would be recognized.
The recruitment drive, which began in 2025, attracted more than 90,000 applicants. After a series of vetting procedures, the pool of successful candidates was narrowed to 4,200. Tukur confirmed that these individuals will receive their employment letters by email.
The government has emphasized its commitment to transparency and fairness, aiming to restore the integrity of the recruitment process and ensure that only qualified candidates are appointed to the civil service. While the delay has caused concern among successful applicants, the assurance that genuine letters will be sent electronically has provided some relief. Applicants are urged to remain patient and await their official appointment letters, which are expected to arrive soon, marking the next step in their careers.
