Adamawa Civil Service Recruitment Update Delays Appointment Letters

The Adamawa State Government has advised successful applicants for civil service jobs to remain calm and expect their employment letters to be sent to their email addresses. This comes after the government discovered irregularities in the issuance of appointment letters, with reports of fake offer letters being given to unsuccessful applicants.

The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission had initially planned to issue authentic appointment messages on December 31, 2025, but the release has been delayed. According to the Permanent Secretary of the commission, Abubakar Maiha, the delay is unavoidable, and the commission is working to ensure that genuine appointment letters are issued before the end of the week.

The development follows a press address by the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Awwal Tukur, who revealed that the civil service recruitment process had been compromised by job racketeers issuing letters to unqualified candidates. Tukur assured that such letters would be invalid and that only letters sent electronically to qualified candidates via their personal emails would be recognized.

The recruitment process, which began in 2025, attracted over 90,000 applicants. After undergoing various vetting procedures, the number of successful applicants was narrowed down to 4,200. Tukur confirmed that these candidates would receive their employment letters, which would be sent to their email addresses.

The Adamawa State Government has emphasized its commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process. The government’s intervention aims to restore the integrity of the process and ensure that only qualified candidates are appointed to the civil service.
