The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has pledged to follow instructions from Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 elections. This statement was made during Wike’s ‘thank you’ visit to the area on Sunday, where he was received by various stakeholders, including the party’s chairman, Rejoice Otobo. Otobo expressed the people’s willingness to support Wike, citing his past contributions to the area. “We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do,” he said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in the area, Ikechukwu Obuzor, also pledged total loyalty to Wike, acknowledging the hope he had given the people. Chita Eugene, chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, described Wike as the political field marshal of the South-South, praising his efforts in attracting development to Rivers State. House of Representatives member for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, noted that Wike’s achievements in the area and his impact as a former governor had earned him deserving support. Additionally, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group led by Chidi Amadi expressed support for Wike and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

Wike insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not be given a second term, stating that the state’s leadership mistake must be corrected in 2027.
