The All Progressives Congress (APC) is experiencing a resurgence in Abia State, according to the APC South-East Mandate Forum. The APC South East Mandate Forum attributed the party’s growing influence to the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who has triggered a wave of defections from the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. Thousands of grassroots supporters have reportedly defected to the APC, tearing their previous party cards in the process.
