Nyesom Wike assassination plot allegations denied by Tammy Danagogo

Dr. Tammy Danagogo, former Secretary to the Government of Rivers State, has denied allegations of involvement in a purported assassination plot against Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The allegations, which also implicate Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol and others, have been circulating on online platforms. In a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Obele Briggs, Dr. Danagogo described the claims as “baseless, false, and deliberately fabricated.”

According to the statement, Dr. Danagogo has never participated in any discussions, meetings, or plans involving violence, assassination, or unlawful activities. He emphasized that the allegations are malicious attempts to tarnish his reputation and mislead the public. The former Minister of Sports stressed that he is a peace-loving, law-abiding citizen who has served Rivers State and Nigeria with distinction and integrity.

Throughout his public and private life, Dr. Danagogo has consistently upheld the rule of law. The statement urged the general public to disregard the “unfounded and mischievous reports,” which it claimed exist only in the imagination of their peddlers. Dr. Danagogo also clarified that he is not on the run, as alleged, and is ready to cooperate with the police or any responsible law enforcement agency for investigation, if invited.

The allegations against Dr. Danagogo and others have sparked concerns about the safety and security of public figures in Nigeria. The country has experienced instances of political violence and assassinations in the past, highlighting the need for thorough investigations into such allegations. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to the allegations and whether Dr. Danagogo and others will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

With a career spanning various public roles, Dr. Danagogo has built a reputation as a dedicated public servant. His denial of the allegations and willingness to cooperate with investigations aim to clear his name and reassure the public of his commitment to peace and the rule of law. The development serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying information before accepting it as true, especially in the age of social media where false information can spread quickly.
