Taraba guber: I am still LP candidate – Ikenya

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Taraba State, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya has called on the people of the state to disregard any claim that he has withdrawn from the race.

He declared that he is still very much in the race to liberate the people of the state from the hands of political machinery, whose stock in trade is political propaganda.

He made the clarification in a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital on Monday.

He debunked the rumour making rounds in the state by some people who he described as political desperados that he has stepped down.

“Those who derive pleasure in spreading fake information had better occupy themselves with more productive endeavours that are more relevant to both the state and nation building.

“I am still the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the forthcoming election,” he said.
