The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a strong and credible membership base, according to the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark. Speaking at the inauguration of the Membership, Revalidation, Mobilisation, and Registration (MRMR) Committee in Abuja, Mark emphasized that a robust and active membership is essential for any political party seeking national relevance.
The ADC, founded on principles of justice, equity, accountability, and people-centered governance, recognizes the importance of a well-documented and mobilized membership in determining a party’s legitimacy, strength, and electoral success. The MRMR Committee, comprising 20 members and led by Chairman Sashimi Imam, has been tasked with revalidating existing members, registering new ones, and strengthening the party’s grassroots presence nationwide.
Mark stressed that the committee’s assignment is critical to the party’s growth, strength, and internal cohesion, particularly as it prepares for future political engagements. He urged the committee to discharge its duties with integrity, fairness, transparency, and patriotism. The inauguration of the MRMR Committee marks a significant milestone in the party’s efforts to reposition itself, following a resolution by the National Working Committee (NWC) to constitute the committee.
The ADC’s focus on membership revalidation and registration is a strategic move to enhance its national presence and competitiveness. With a strong and active membership base, the party aims to increase its reach and influence, ultimately contributing to its electoral success. As the committee commences its work, the ADC is poised to strengthen its position as a major player in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The MRMR Committee’s efforts will be crucial in ensuring the party’s membership records are up-to-date and accurate, providing a solid foundation for future electoral campaigns. As the ADC looks ahead to upcoming political engagements, its emphasis on building a strong and credible membership base is a testament to its commitment to democratic principles and people-centered governance. With the committee’s work underway, the party is well-positioned to make a meaningful impact in Nigerian politics.
