Dr. Johnson Akintayo, the university’s Associate Vice President for Communications, Media, and Branding, affirmed that the campuses are safe and secure, with no fire incidents having occurred.
The university also refuted rumors that the alleged fire had caused a postponement of the second‑semester resumption. Classes are set to begin as scheduled on Monday, 12 January 2026, in accordance with the academic calendar. The institution confirmed that its campuses are fully prepared to receive students from 12 January to 14 January 2026.
Babcock University warned individuals spreading false information to cease their activities and urged the public to rely solely on official university communication channels for accurate updates.
