The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for his efforts in mobilizing support for the party. The commendation was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Ado Ekiti, where Governor Oyebanji’s party membership card was presented. The event was part of the party’s nationwide e-registration program, aimed at strengthening its support base.
According to Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, Commissioner for Youth Development and coordinator of the e-registration program in Ekiti State, the governor’s personal efforts have been instrumental in attracting new members to the party. Adedayo noted that the party’s inclusive approach, championed by Governor Oyebanji, has endeared the APC to all segments of society, including former governors in the state.
The commissioner emphasized that the party’s electronic registration exercise has been well-received across the 177 wards in Ekiti State, with a significant number of new members joining the party. This, he said, is a testament to the APC’s popularity and acceptability in the state. Adedayo attributed the success of the registration exercise to Governor Oyebanji’s leadership and the party’s inclusive politics.
Governor Oyebanji, in his response, described the revalidation exercise as a crucial innovation that will strengthen the party ahead of future elections. He applauded the national leadership of the party, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwadta, for introducing the e-registration program. The governor urged the people of Ekiti State to register massively with the party, citing the APC’s commitment to reform and its potential to transform the country’s economic fortunes.
The APC’s e-registration program is part of the party’s efforts to revitalize its structures and bolster its support base ahead of future elections. With Governor Oyebanji’s leadership and the party’s inclusive approach, the APC is poised to consolidate its position in Ekiti State and beyond. As the registration exercise continues, the party is expected to leverage its newfound momentum to drive growth and development in the state.
