The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning to the public regarding a series of fake online links and social media handles claiming to be the party’s official membership registration platform. In a statement released on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, clarified that the ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link.
The statement emphasized that all links being circulated should be disregarded, as they are not affiliated with the party. The ADC is currently developing an official membership registration and verification platform, which will be formally announced through verified party channels in due course. This move aims to prevent fraudulent activities and protect the public from scams.
The party has advised the public to exercise caution when encountering suspicious links or messages. The ADC will never request payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial links, WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites. To protect themselves from scams, the public is advised not to click on suspicious or unverified links, not to share unconfirmed registration messages, and not to submit personal information, including name, phone number, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) details, Bank Verification Number (BVN), or payment information on any unverified platform.
The ADC has assured the public that it is actively addressing the issue and will take all necessary steps to protect the public and preserve the integrity of the party. The party has also urged the public to report any suspicious links to the ADC through official party communication channels. All legitimate ADC announcements, including the launch of the official membership registration platform, will only be communicated through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party leadership.
The ADC’s warning comes as the party prepares to launch its official membership registration platform. The party’s efforts to prevent fraudulent activities and protect the public’s personal information are crucial in maintaining trust and integrity in the political process. As the party moves forward with its membership registration process, it is essential for the public to remain vigilant and cautious when encountering online links and messages claiming to be from the ADC. By doing so, the public can help prevent scams and ensure the integrity of the party’s membership registration process.
