Kano Empowers 2260 Youths With Entrepreneurship Skills

The Kano State Government has taken a significant step towards empowering its youth by graduating 2,260 beneficiaries who underwent training in various entrepreneurship skills. The move is part of the government’s efforts to boost job creation and youth empowerment in the state. Governor Abba Yusuf presided over the graduation ceremony, which was held at the Government House in Kano.

According to Governor Yusuf, the event marked “a new beginning” for the youths, aimed at making them self-reliant and productive contributors to the state’s economy. The beneficiaries received training in diverse fields, including driving, informatics, livestock management, and development journalism, among others. Each graduate was awarded a cash grant of 50,000, while those trained in driving received 100,000.

The governor announced plans to train an additional 50,000 youths in vocational and entrepreneurial skills, with the goal of promoting self-reliance and reducing dependence on government employment. He encouraged the graduates to utilize the opportunity to become employers of labor, thereby contributing to the state’s economic growth.

The graduation ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and development partners, who praised the initiative as a significant step towards sustainable youth empowerment in the state. The Kano State Government’s efforts to empower its youth are part of a broader strategy to address unemployment and promote economic development in the region.

With a focus on vocational training and entrepreneurship, the government aims to equip its youth with the skills and resources needed to succeed in the job market. The initiative is also expected to have a positive impact on the state’s economy, as a skilled and empowered workforce can contribute to increased productivity and economic growth. As the government moves forward with its plans to train more youths, it is likely that the state will see a significant reduction in unemployment and an increase in economic opportunities.
