Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could register over two million members in the state with the launch of the party’s digital membership registration exercise. The governor made this projection after receiving his APC membership card during the flag-off of the exercise at the party’s state secretariat in Maiduguri.
The registration exercise, which aims to create a centralized database of party members, was also attended by other high-ranking officials, including the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Umar Kadafur, and the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori. The governor was registered by an agent from his ward, Aiari Unit 003, and presented with his membership card by the Borno State APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba.
According to Governor Zulum, the digital platform is designed to strengthen internal party processes, and he urged members across the state to participate in the exercise. He expressed confidence that with the support of stakeholders, the party could exceed two million registered members in the state. The digital registration exercise is part of the party’s efforts to enhance its membership database and improve its internal processes.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including the Chief Whip of the Senate, Tahir Monguno; Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume and Kaka Lawan (SAN); the member representing Marte, Monguno and Nganzai Federal Constituency, Bukar Talba; Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan; and other party officials. The successful launch of the digital membership registration exercise is expected to boost the party’s membership and strengthen its presence in the state.
The APC’s digital membership registration exercise is a significant development in the party’s efforts to modernize its operations and improve its engagement with members. As the party continues to roll out the exercise across the state, it is likely to have a positive impact on its membership and overall performance. With the support of stakeholders, the party is poised to achieve its goal of registering over two million members in the state.
