Kaduna Governor Warns Against Exploiting Abduction Incident

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has urged individuals seeking to exploit the suffering of others to desist from doing so, following the abduction of over 170 church members in the Kajuru area. The governor’s warning came during a visit to Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area, where he gathered first-hand information about the incident.

Governor Sani emphasized that the actions of rumour mongers have undermined unity, weakened trust, and emboldened criminality in the state in recent times. He also noted that his administration has been working to address the situation, briefing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the matter and engaging with the National Security Adviser and the Minister of Defence. The governor received assurances that all necessary measures are being taken to secure the release of the abducted individuals.

In an effort to strengthen security in the community, Governor Sani advocated for the establishment of a permanent military base in Kurmin Wali. He also expressed appreciation for the resilience and restraint shown by the people of Kurmin Wali, and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to unity and inclusive development. The governor announced plans to commence construction on a link road and a healthcare centre in the coming weeks, aimed at improving access and enhancing the wellbeing of the community.

The abduction of church members in Kajuru is the latest incident in a series of security challenges faced by Kaduna State. The governor’s administration has been working to address these challenges, with a focus on pursuing peace, security, and development. The establishment of a permanent military base in Kurmin Wali is seen as a key step in strengthening security in the area, and the governor’s efforts to improve access and enhance wellbeing are expected to have a positive impact on the community.

The situation in Kaduna State remains a concern, with the governor and other stakeholders working to address the security challenges and promote unity and development. The international community is watching the situation closely, with many calling for increased support and cooperation to address the root causes of the security challenges. As the situation continues to unfold, Governor Sani’s administration is expected to remain committed to finding solutions and promoting peace and stability in the state.
