Jubilee Party Announces Leadership Changes Ahead 2027 Election

Nairobi — The Jubilee Party has announced a significant reorganization of its leadership as it prepares for the 2027 General Election in Kenya. The changes were endorsed during a National Executive Council meeting chaired by party leader Uhuru Kenyatta. The party stated that a comprehensive revitalization of its structures at both national and grassroots levels is essential as the country approaches the 2027 polls, citing lessons learned from the 2022 elections and growing concerns over the country’s direction.

The reorganization includes key leadership transitions, with Jeremiah Kioni, the former Secretary General, being appointed Deputy Party Leader. Moitalel Ole Kenta, a former Narok North MP, has taken over as Secretary General. Ole Kenta is described as a seasoned politician and advocate for social justice, equity, and inclusive development. Vincent Kemosi, a former West Mugirango MP and advocate of the High Court, has been appointed National Chairperson, bringing legal expertise and parliamentary experience to the role.

Other appointments include Yassin Noor as Organising Secretary, Kembi Gitura as Director of Elections, and Zack Kinuthia as Deputy Secretary General. At the county level, Nairobi MCA and Deputy Speaker Paul Kados has been appointed National Chairperson of the MCA’s Caucus. Advocate Dann Mwangi has been named Executive Director at the National Secretariat, having previously served as a political and legal adviser in the Executive Office of the President.

The party has challenged the new officials to “hit the ground running” and undertake sustained grassroots party activations, while remaining inclusive and responsive to the aspirations of party members and the Kenyan people. The reorganization is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s structures and prepare for the upcoming elections. With these changes, the Jubilee Party aims to revitalize its leadership and improve its chances in the 2027 General Election. The party’s new leadership is expected to play a crucial role in shaping its campaign and engaging with voters across the country.
