The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has announced that over 70,000 party members have been registered in the ongoing APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise. This development was disclosed by the party’s state chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, during a stakeholders’ meeting with party members in Damaturu. According to Gadaka, the registration dashboard indicates that more than 70,000 members have been captured in the exercise across the state’s 17 local government areas.
Gadaka attributed the success of the program to effective grassroots mobilization and sustained awareness creation. He emphasized the need for deliberate mobilization, continuous sensitization, and proper coordination of party members at the state, local government, and ward levels to ensure widespread participation. The chairman reassured party members of the APC’s commitment to justice, equity, fairness, and inclusive governance, stating that the party would continue to carry the people along in all its programs and initiatives.
The Special Adviser to the Yobe State Governor on Political Matters, Hon Usman Kabarma, commented on the development, saying that party members were fully mobilized and ready to provide massive grassroots support to ensure the success of the APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise across the state. This comes after Governor Mai Mala Buni recently charged APC officials to ensure the revalidation of old members and the registration of new ones. The governor had given the charge after his membership was revalidated, emphasizing that every member of the party should be registered or have their membership revalidated, and no member should be disenfranchised.
As the leading party in the state and Nigeria, Governor Buni advised that the APC should justify its numerical strength through documentation of its membership. The APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise aims to update the party’s membership records and increase its numerical strength. With the registration of over 70,000 members in Yobe State, the party is taking a significant step towards achieving this goal. The success of the exercise is crucial for the party’s future plans and initiatives, and the APC is expected to continue mobilizing its members to ensure widespread participation in the exercise.
