Former Nigerian APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje Returns to Nigeria Ahead of Key Party Event
Abdullahi Ganduje, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has returned to Nigeria from London. His Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, confirmed that Ganduje arrived in Abuja on a British Airways flight at approximately 5:30 am on Monday. The former governor is expected to proceed to Kano later in the day to engage in a series of significant political activities.
Ganduje’s return comes ahead of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf’s anticipated defection to the APC. The former chairman is slated to participate in the party’s electronic registration of members, a program he initiated during his tenure as national chairman. He will also play a key role in the planned reception for Governor Yusuf, who is set to formally join the APC.
Ganduje had traveled to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his daughter, Fatima, at King’s College, London. Fatima, who is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, graduated with a Master’s degree from the prestigious institution on Thursday.
The APC’s electronic registration program is a significant initiative aimed at strengthening the party’s membership and internal processes. Ganduje’s involvement in this program underscores his ongoing commitment to the party’s development and growth. Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf’s impending defection to the APC is expected to have significant implications for the political landscape in Kano State and beyond.
As Ganduje settles back into Nigeria, he is likely to be closely watched by political observers and stakeholders. His return and participation in key APC events will be seen as an important indicator of the party’s cohesion and strength ahead of future elections. With his experience and influence, Ganduje is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the APC’s strategy and direction in the coming months.
