Kogi Airport: Government Urged to Implement Zariagi Project

A public affairs analyst, Quantity Surveyor Bello Ayuba, has advised the Kogi State government to remain focused on its plan to construct the Zariagi International Airport. In a statement, Ayuba emphasized that the project would significantly boost economic development in the state if implemented. He noted that it is unfortunate that Kogi State has been without an airport for decades, despite having served as the country’s capital in the past.

The proposed airport is expected to have a substantial impact on the state’s economy, with Ayuba predicting that it would triple the economic fortunes of the people of Kogi State. He urged the state government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Ododo, to press on with the project, which is envisioned to bring enormous economic development to the region.

The Kogi State government has already announced plans to raise a N50 billion Sukuk fund to finance the construction of the airport, as well as the Lokoja International Market. This move is seen as a significant step towards addressing the state’s infrastructure deficit, particularly in the aviation sector. Kogi is one of the states in Nigeria without a functioning airport, making the construction of the Zariagi International Airport a long-awaited development.

The construction of the airport is expected to have far-reaching benefits for the state, including increased economic activity, job creation, and improved connectivity. As the project moves forward, it is essential for the state government to ensure that it is executed efficiently and effectively, with adequate planning and resources allocated to meet the project’s objectives.

The planned construction of the Zariagi International Airport is a significant development for Kogi State, and its successful completion is crucial for the state’s economic growth and development. With the state government’s commitment to the project and the anticipated economic benefits, the airport is expected to play a vital role in transforming the state’s economy and improving the lives of its citizens. As the project progresses, it will be essential to monitor its development and ensure that it is completed on time and within budget.
