Cristiano Ronaldo not shareholder of Al Nassr club

The chairman of Al-Nassr, Abdullah Al-Majed, has clarified that Cristiano Ronaldo does not hold a stake in the club, addressing speculation about the footballer’s role in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023, following his departure from Manchester United in 2022. His move to the Saudi Pro League sparked a wave of interest in the competition, with several high-profile players, including Neymar Jr., Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kanté, subsequently signing with various Saudi Arabian clubs.

In an interview, Al-Majed highlighted Ronaldo’s significant impact on the league, extending beyond his on-field performances. The chairman credited Ronaldo with helping to attract other top players to the league, stating, “He helped to convince a lot of the players.” Al-Majed emphasized that Ronaldo’s involvement with the club is solely as a player, noting, “Ronaldo doesn’t have a share in the club, and this is his business as well as the owners’ business.”

Since joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has made a substantial contribution to the team, scoring 110 goals and providing 22 assists in 126 matches. His presence has undoubtedly boosted the profile of the Saudi Pro League, drawing increased attention from fans and media worldwide. The league has experienced significant growth in popularity, with many attributing this surge to the arrival of high-profile players like Ronaldo.

The clarification regarding Ronaldo’s role in Al-Nassr comes as the Saudi Pro League continues to expand its reach and attract new talent. With the league’s growing popularity, it is likely that more top players will be drawn to the competition, further enhancing its reputation as a major football destination. As the league continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how it develops and whether it can sustain its current momentum.
