APC Benue Retains Agada on Loyalty and Performance

Philip Agbese, a member of the House of Representatives, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State retained its state and local executives for a second term due to their proven loyalty, commitment, and performance. The announcement, made in Abuja on Saturday, covers the party’s leadership structure from the state level down to wards.

Agbese, representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, explained that the decision to retain Comrade Austin Agada as state chairman and other executives aligns with the APC’s core principle of rewarding hard work and tangible results. “In the APC, we believe strongly in recognising those who have laboured for the party and delivered results,” he said.

The lawmaker linked the continuity to the leadership philosophy of Senator George Akume, the party’s recognized leader in Benue. “Our leader, Senator George Akume, has always stood for merit and loyalty. Those who work for the party and stand firm in difficult times deserve recognition,” Agbese added.

He specifically praised Agada’s leadership during the 2023 general elections, noting his role in maintaining party unity and competitiveness in a challenging environment. “Comrade Austin Agada led the party through the 2023 elections with dedication and resilience. He mobilised across Benue against all odds and ensured the party remained strong and competitive,” Agbese stated.

Looking forward, the legislator argued that retaining experienced leadership is a strategic necessity to build on past progress and improve the party’s electoral prospects. He highlighted the importance of securing a better outcome for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Benue State during future contests. “Experience brings stability, and stability brings victory,” he said.

When asked about the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia, Agbese shifted focus to national priorities. “Our attention is on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the broader national interest. We believe the people of Benue understand this bigger picture,” he remarked.

The move is framed as an effort to deepen grassroots trust and strengthen the APC’s organizational capacity ahead of upcoming political challenges, reinforcing a strategy of continuity to ensure stability and growth within the party’s Benue State structure.
