The City Boy Movement (CBM) has officially confirmed that Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, remains its duly appointed Director in Imo State, directly contradicting recent media reports suggesting an internal review of his position.
In a statement issued from Abuja on Tuesday, CBM Director-General Francis Shoga described the circulating allegations as “misleading and inaccurate.” He emphasised that Okechukwu is “the only officially recognised and duly appointed figure” for Imo State and clarified that no subsequent appointment or validation has been issued. Shoga stated that any claims regarding parallel leadership structures, withdrawn appointments, or internal disputes do not represent the movement’s official stance.
He explained that the CBM adheres to clearly defined procedures and due process for all state appointments and coordination. According to Shoga, any formal organisational decisions are communicated exclusively through authorised channels. He characterised recent ambiguous correspondence as “a ploy to discredit the integrity of the group,” reaffirming that the CBM is a “structured and disciplined organisation.”
The statement reiterated the movement’s core objectives, which include strengthening grassroots mobilisation and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. Shoga noted that members remain united in their mission to consolidate local structures and deliver on their mandate in support of President Bola Tinubu’s vision for national development.
Concluding, Shoga urged both members and the public to disregard unverified information that could cause internal confusion. He reaffirmed the CBM’s commitment to unity, transparency, and organisational discipline across all states, underscoring its role as a coordinated entity focused on political mobilisation ahead of the next electoral cycle.
