Kebbi Gov Urges Prayers for Peace, Unity in Ramadan

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has extended felicitations to Muslims in his state and across Nigeria as they commence the holy month of Ramadan, urging devotion to prayers for national peace, unity, and development.

In a formal statement marking the start of the fasting season, Governor Idris called on the Muslim Ummah to deeply reflect on the core values of sacrifice, compassion, patience, and unity that Ramadan represents. He emphasized that the sacred month presents a vital opportunity for spiritual renewal and for strengthening communal bonds through increased acts of charity and kindness toward the less privileged.

The governor specifically appealed to residents of Kebbi State to pray for lasting peace, stability, and continued progress both within the state and the nation at large. Reaffirming his administration’s focus, he stated that the government would persist in implementing policies and programmes designed to improve public welfare and ensure inclusive development for all citizens.

Concluding his message, Governor Idris prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the fasting, prayers, and worship of the faithful, granting them abundant mercy and blessings throughout Ramadan.

The observance of Ramadan, one of the five pillars of Islam, involves a month-long dawn-to-dusk fast, heightened prayer, charity, and reflection. The period is widely regarded as a time for spiritual discipline, social cohesion, and heightened consciousness of the needs of others, themes central to the governor’s address. His message aligns with customary calls from leaders during this period, using the religious gathering to promote broader societal goals of harmony and collective advancement.
