Rosy Meurer Denies Tonto Dikeh Best Friend Before Marriage

Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has issued a strong denial of any prior relationship with her husband’s ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, directly contradicting past public statements and reigniting a long-standing celebrity controversy.

Meurer’s denial comes via a recent Instagram video, where she asserted she had never met Dikeh before marrying businessman Olakunle Churchill in 2021. “I was never my husband’s ex’s friend not to talk of best friend. I have never met her. I have never seen her,” Meurer stated, dismissing years of online speculation as fabricated. She challenged anyone to produce evidence of a friendship, saying, “If anyone has the proof otherwise, I dare you to bring it out.”

The public feud traces back to 2017, during the messy divorce of Churchill and Dikeh. At that time, Meurer was publicly linked to Churchill, with allegations suggesting an affair while he was still married. In response to those claims, surfaced video footage from the period shows Meurer describing both Churchill and Dikeh as “family,” stating they had “hung out together” and urging people to “stop saying things that they do not know.”

The narrative resurfaced with significant intensity after Meurer and Churchill married in 2021. Netizens extensively recycled the old allegations, framing the union as a confirmation of the past infidelity rumors. Meurer explained her years of public silence, attributing the persistent stories to “bloggers” and “gullible followers” who perpetuate lies.

For context, Churchill and Dikeh were married from August 2015 until their divorce was finalized in July 2017. They share a son, King Andre, born in February 2016. The divorce proceedings were highly publicized, with Dikeh citing allegations of domestic violence and infidelity.

Meurer’s new account fundamentally reshapes her previous narrative, moving from a position of acknowledged familiarity with the couple to a complete disavowal of any connection to Dikeh. She emphasized that her relationship with Churchill developed separately from his previous marriage. This sharp reversal provides her first detailed public rebuttal to the “best friend” narrative that has trailed her since the 2021 marriage.

The denial by Meurer, a known figure in the Nigerian film industry, highlights the intense scrutiny and rumor culture surrounding Nollywood personalities. It also directly confronts the specific allegation that she and Dikeh were close friends, a claim that has fueled considerable public discussion and media commentary on social media platforms for years. Her statement aims to close the chapter on that particular speculation by unequivocally denying the foundational premise of the long-running rumor.
