
Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Community Development, Dr Charles Olisa, has hailed the Chairman of Interswitch, Sir Ken Olisa, for his OBE (Officer of British Empire) title given to him by United Kingdom.
Olisa noted that although the title was bestowed on Sir Ken, who is also Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, in 2018, he was reuniting with his brother after a long time.
Speaking at a family event at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the special assistant, who hails from Aboh, Ndokwa East Local Government, he said the Interswitch chief was meeting the Olisas for the first time on Nigeria’s soil.
The governor’s aide noted that the meeting would build stronger bond, saying, in days ahead, Sir Ken would be intimated with pressing needs of Aboh in social infrastructure and youth empowerment.He said the Nigerian – British investor was an illustrious son of Aboh and would intervene in developing the land.
Sir Ken has a major library (Olisa Library) in Cambridge University named after him owing to his contributions to UK’s educational system.
Knighted by the British in 2015, he is the chairman of Charles Olisa Charity Foundation (COCF), among others.
The governor’s aide continued, saying: ”… Sir Ken will attract so much goodwill to the family and Ndokwa nation.”
He noted that philanthropy had always been a foundation of the family, as their late patriarch, strong Action Group politician, was a renowned educationist and philanthropist, who died in 1963.
