Flutterwave’s Send App has launched a personalised “Postcards” feature that transforms users’ cross-border remittance data into visual, shareable digital summaries, shifting the focus from transaction volumes to the human stories behind money transfers.
The feature, available within the Send App for Android and iOS, generates a year-in-review postcard for 2025. It displays the total amount a user sent to family and friends—a metric termed “Worth of Love”—and awards personalised sender persona badges based on individual giving patterns, such as The Hero, The Rain Maker, or The Steady Supporter. Users can view, save, and share these postcards across social platforms.
This initiative addresses a common gap in global remittance discourse, which often prioritises financial flows and volumes over the emotional and social dimensions of sending money abroad. Send App’s campaign frames each transaction as an act of connection, covering scenarios like funding education, covering medical costs, supporting weddings, or offering simple gestures of care.
“Sending money home is often a quiet act of love. We wanted to make some noise for our users, moving beyond the transaction receipts to celebrate the love and care that defines living across borders,” said Harvey Bahia, Head of SendApp Business at Flutterwave. “With Postcards, we are helping our users visualise the real impact of the money they sent in 2025, the lives they touched, and the connections they sustained throughout the year.”
The campaign specifically highlights Africans living abroad, particularly in the UK, US, and Europe—key origins for Send App’s inbound remittances—acknowledging their critical role in supporting families and communities back home. By converting a year’s transaction history into a narrative of sustained commitment, the feature underscores the responsibilities and realities of diaspora life.
Africa’s leading payments technology company, Flutterwave, continues to leverage its Send App to innovate within the remittance space. This launch reflects a broader industry trend towards humanising financial data, using technology to celebrate user behaviour and strengthen emotional engagement with financial services.
The Send App Postcards for 2025 are now accessible to users, offering a new way to reflect on and share the personal impact of their cross-border transfers.
