Adeleke Directs Acceleration of Osun Infrastructure Projects

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed state officials and contractors to accelerate the completion of critical infrastructure projects across the state, stating that governance must proceed without distraction.

The instruction was given during a review meeting with project supervisors on Sunday night. According to a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Monday, the meeting focused on ongoing developments in key towns including Ila Orangun, Iwo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa, Osogbo, and Ikirun.

Governor Adeleke emphasized the administration’s commitment to sustaining the momentum of development, urging supervisors to ensure timely delivery of mega projects. He framed the infrastructure drive as central to delivering democratic dividends to residents.

“I have been carrying out unannounced inspections of many ongoing projects. I am impressed with the performance of our team,” the Governor stated, adding that the observed dedication must translate into accelerated work on the ground.

Specific projects highlighted include a new dual carriageway in Ila Orangun, which he said would soon be commissioned as part of statewide modernization efforts. He described Ile-Ife as being on course to emerge as a renewed urban centre through ongoing initiatives, while noting that residents of Iwo were already witnessing the impact of modernization. Significant upgrades in Osogbo and other towns were also confirmed.

The Governor directed all state contractors to intensify efforts, warning that avoidable delays would not be tolerated. “All contractors are directed to double up. Osun people have strong faith in us. We won’t allow any contractor to dash or slow down the hope of our people,” he said.

He further noted that the administration’s focused delivery of projects serves as its primary response to critics, reinforcing that the government’s energy must remain on execution. The directive underscores a push to fast-track infrastructure as a key benchmark of the current administration’s performance in Osun State.
