Europa League: Ten Hag reveals decision on Bruno Fernandes captainship

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will continue as captain of the team.

Ten Hag stated this during his press conference on Wednesday, ahead of United’s Europa last-16 first-leg clash against Real Betis.

There have been calls for Fernandes to be stripped of the armband following his antics during their 7-0 humiliation at Liverpool on Sunday.

Ten Hag on whether Bruno Fernandes will continue as captain: “Yes. Definitely.

“I think he’s playing a brilliant season and has a really important role, giving lots of energy to the team in the right way.

“He’s an inspirer for the whole team but no one is perfect, he will learn.”
