Sani Buhari Nigerian Winger Free Transfer to Real Valladolid

Nigerian winger Sani Buhari has completed a move to Real Valladolid, the Spanish second division club announced on Wednesday. The 22-year-old joins on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Armenian Premier League side FC Pyunik, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Valladolid-based club.

Buhari, who possesses pace and wide-area experience, is expected to add depth to Fran Escribá’s squad as they fight to secure their status in the Segunda División. His signing is notably reunited with compatriot Ibrahim Alani, who is already on the roster, providing a familiar connection in the new environment.

The transfer arrives amid a critical phase for Real Valladolid. Currently positioned 18th in the 22-team league table with 33 points from 29 matches, the club sits just two points above the relegation zone. The addition of Buhari offers attacking alternatives as the team approaches the final stretch of the season. He is eligible to make his debut in Valladolid’s upcoming fixture against Leganés on Saturday.

Buhari’s career path includes stints in Armenia and prior development in Nigeria’s domestic football structure. His arrival underscores Valladolid’s proactive approach to the winter transfer window, targeting versatile forwards to bolster their survival bid. The club will hope his integration is swift as they navigate a tightly contested battle to remain in Spain’s second tier.
