Gunshot Wounds Influencer Broda Shaggy in Ogun, Hospitalized

Nigerian social media personality Broda Shaggy is receiving medical treatment after sustaining a gunshot injury in Ogun State, according to police and media reports. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Sango Ota area, a major commercial hub.

Broda Shaggy, whose real name is Oluwashina Opeyemi, is a prominent content creator known for comedy skits and vlogs with a substantial online following. Reports indicate he was filming content at the Sango Ota Bridge when the shooting happened. Initial details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting are unclear.

Following the incident, the victim was first rushed to a private hospital in the Alakuko area of neighboring Lagos State. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently referred to another medical facility in Ikeja, Lagos, for advanced care.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident through a statement by its spokesperson, ACP Abimbola Adebisi. ACP Adebisi explained that the police were alerted by the initial hospital. “The hospital reported to the command that a gunshot victim was brought to their facility, and we discovered it was Broda Shaggy when we visited the hospital,” she stated, as reported by The Sun newspaper.

The case has now been officially recorded at the Lagos State Police Command. Investigations are underway to determine the precise cause of the shooting, identify the perpetrator(s), and establish the full sequence of events. As of this report, no arrests have been announced, and police have not released further information on the motive.

The shooting of a well-known public figure in a busy commercial district has drawn attention. The ongoing police investigation will be critical in providing clarity on the incident.
