The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has launched the second season of its documentary series, “Impact Stories,” in partnership with CNN International Commercial’s branded content studio, Create. The new season expands the series’ geographic focus to include the Caribbean and more African nations, featuring six films that document the human and economic outcomes of the Bank’s strategic investments.
Season Two was filmed on location in Grenada, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Nigeria. The episodes highlight specific projects, including the Silversands Resort expansion in Grenada, which exemplifies Africa-Caribbean cooperation; the Dangote Refinery in Lagos; the Geometric Power project revitalising Aba, Nigeria; and a partnership with Plot Enterprise tracing Ghanaian cocoa to global markets. The series also covers the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme, featuring Ghanaian fashion brand Boyedoe’s preparation for Paris Fashion Week, and the renovation of Abidjan’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium.
Anne Ezeh, Director of Communications and Events at Afreximbank, stated the films demonstrate the Bank’s commitment to fostering economic independence and integration. “These films are portraits of partnership and progress… showcasing a vision of a prosperous and integrated Global Africa,” she said, noting they illustrate existing building blocks for greater intra-African trade and cross-border collaboration.
Martin Laing, Senior Director of Production at CNN International Commercial’s Create Brand Studio, described the collaboration as a privilege, highlighting the series’ audience-first approach to telling human stories of real-world impact across Africa and its diaspora.
The six episodes will premiere on Afreximbank TV on March 12th. The series serves to document the Bank’s mandate to finance and promote trade, showing how investment translates into tangible prosperity. A promotional campaign will run across CNN.com and CNN International.
The release underscores Afreximbank’s strategy of using narrative to communicate its role in supporting enterprise, infrastructure, and cultural projects across Global Africa, aligning with broader efforts to stimulate economic development and regional integration.
