PDP Nigeria Confident of 2027 General Election Victory

PDP Chairman Declares Party ‘Bigger Than Any Individual’ Ahead of 2027 Elections

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bogoro Local Government Area, Bauchi State, Amos Faruk, has asserted that the party is greater than any single member, vowing it will survive internal and external pressures. Speaking on Friday in Bogoro, Faruk expressed confidence that the PDP would present a united front and remain the leading political force in Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

Faruk made the remarks while addressing ward leaders and supporters who accompanied a 2027 State House of Assembly aspirant, Ishaku Madaki, to the party secretariat. He stated that no individual could dismantle the PDP, describing it as the only formidable political party in Nigeria since the return of democracy in 1999. “No one individual can kill the PDP because it is far above such a person,” he said.

He highlighted the party’s resilience, noting that despite membership fluctuations and periods out of power, the PDP has remained ideologically consistent since its formation. According to Faruk, the party’s structure in Bogoro is particularly strong, boasting the largest membership and followership across the local government area. He added that local members have remained loyal since 1998, even during challenging times.

Turning to the 2027 elections, Faruk announced that the PDP will field candidates for all elective positions from local to federal levels. He assured aspirants of a fair and transparent primary process, emphasizing that the party will select candidates who reflect the majority’s wishes. “Everything has its time,” he noted, urging hopefuls to avoid politics of bitterness and thuggery. Faruk warned that any aspirant engaging in such conduct would lose the party’s support, regardless of status.

His declaration underscores the PDP’s strategic focus on consolidation ahead of the next electoral cycle, particularly in Bauchi State where it maintains a significant grassroots presence. The party’s claim to being the “party to beat” in 2027 sets the stage for heightened political activity in Bogoro and across Nigeria, as opposition groups also ramp up preparations.

Analysts note that the PDP’s ability to manage internal unity while projecting strength will be critical to its performance in the 2027 polls, especially in regions like Bauchi where it competes with rival parties including the All Progressives Congress (APC). Faruk’s statement signals an intent to curb factionalism and reinforce the party’s organization at the ward level—a move that could influence candidate selection and voter mobilisation in the coming years.
