Osun Governor Adeleke Endorses Tinubu 2027 Re-Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has publicly reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, stating that ongoing local government challenges in his state have not altered his position.

The announcement was made on Tuesday in Osogbo during a meeting with cabinet members, special advisers, and top officials. According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described President Tinubu as a leader representing the South-West geopolitical zone and endorsed his second-term campaign as being in the region’s best interest.

“We have no problem with President Tinubu. He is our leader,” Governor Adeleke stated. He noted that his endorsement is consistent with his long-standing political alignment, dating back to his tenure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor’s declaration comes amid a prolonged administrative crisis affecting Osun’s local government councils. Despite this internal issue, Adeleke emphasized that his support for the president remains steadfast.

In his address, Adeleke also praised the growing popularity of the Accord Party (AP), which he leads, suggesting its influence is expanding beyond Osun State. He assured residents that his administration would continue to deliver “democratic dividends” with a renewed focus on youth, women, and workers. Key priority sectors include infrastructure, agro-industrialisation, education, and healthcare.

Governor Adeleke further directed party officials to intensify grassroots organisation. He called for comprehensive membership registration and voter mobilisation across all 332 political wards in Osun State to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of future elections.

This public endorsement signals continued political cohesion between the Osun State governor and the federal administration, highlighting the importance of regional alliances in Nigeria’s political landscape as the 2027 election cycle approaches.
