Eid Gov Idris Urges Ramadan Virtues and Kebbi Development

Kebbi Governor Urges Preservation of Ramadan Values Amid Development Pledges

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims in the state, Nigeria, and globally, marking the end of Ramadan. In a statement, he described the celebration as a period for gratitude, spiritual renewal, and reflection.

Governor Idris called on the Muslim community to sustain the core virtues cultivated during the holy month, including sacrifice, patience, compassion, discipline, tolerance, and submission to Allah’s will. He emphasized that these principles should extend beyond Ramadan into everyday life. Additionally, he urged Muslims to follow the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), highlighting the Prophet’s emphasis on humility, mercy, justice, peaceful coexistence, and unity for the progress of the Ummah.

Separately, Governor Idris reassured the people of Kebbi of his administration’s ongoing commitment to development. He pledged to continue advancing key sectors, deepen empowerment initiatives, and create more opportunities for vulnerable and less-privileged residents to thrive.

He thanked the citizens for their prayers and support, reiterating that his government’s foundation rests on justice, inclusive development, shared prosperity, peace, unity, and democratic ideals aimed at a more prosperous Kebbi State.

The message, typical of gubernatorial addresses during Eid, combines spiritual guidance with a reaffirmation of governance priorities. Kebbi, a northwestern state with a significant Muslim population, faces challenges including poverty and security concerns. The governor’s dual focus on moral conduct and socio-economic advancement aligns with common themes in public statements from Nigerian leaders during national celebrations. The address underscores the intersection of religious observance and political accountability in the state’s public discourse.
