PUMA Reveals 11-Nation Football Kits with African Focus

PUMA has unveiled its national team kits for the 2026 season at a community-focused event in New York City, reinforcing its position as a leading supplier in international football, particularly across Africa.

The global sports brand revealed jerseys for 11 nations—Portugal, Morocco, Ghana, Paraguay, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Czech Republic, Switzerland, New Zealand, Austria, and Egypt—through a street-level celebration at Domino Square on March 19. The launch departed from traditional stadium or cinematic reveals, instead placing the kits on local community players from each nation during a 4v4 tournament on a city pitch, facilitated by NYC Footy.

This approach centered football within a broader cultural context, featuring custom-designed trucks representing each nation with local food, music, and artifacts. The event included appearances by football legends Ricardo Quaresma (Portugal), Asamoah Gyan (Ghana), and El Hadji Diouf (Senegal), alongside a live music program with Ghanaian artist Black Sherif and DJs representing several nations.

The selection of 11 teams spans four continents, meaning nearly a quarter of all nations participating in the upcoming major tournament will wear PUMA. Notably, the brand’s African partner federations—Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, and Egypt—constitute the most prominent African representation by any kit manufacturer at the competition. Portugal, among the tournament favourites, also features.

“We wanted to connect with the fan communities by showing up in the places and moments that matter to them,” said Nadia Kokni, PUMA Vice President Global Brand Marketing. She emphasized the event’s core belief of offering local players the first experience of the kits on their own city pitch.

Dominique Gathier, PUMA Vice President Teamsport, linked the collection to the brand’s heritage: “The culture of Football is what drives us… Combining cutting-edge performance innovation with cultural identity, this collection unites technical excellence and the spirit that brings nations together on the world’s biggest stage.” PUMA’s legacy includes equipping legends like Pelé, Maradona, and Cruyff.

All jerseys incorporate the brand’s ULTRAWEAVE performance technology and dryCELL sweat-wicking fabric. Replica versions are produced using PUMA’s RE:FIBRE initiative, part of its commitment to responsible product innovation. The full 2026 national team kit range will be available for purchase from March 24.

The event and kit launch signal PUMA’s strategic focus on both elite performance and grassroots cultural engagement as it enters the summer’s major tournament with a significant market presence, especially across the African continent.
