With approximately 770,000 followers on TikTok and 190,000 on Kick, Clavicular promotes extreme physical modifications and aligns with right-wing influencers, sparking debate about the mainstreaming of a once-niche subculture.
Looksmaxxing, the practice of maximizing physical attractiveness through various means, originated in online incel (involuntarily celibate) communities before gaining broader traction. The ideology centres on achieving a specific aesthetic ideal—often characterised by facial symmetry, a lean physique, and sharp jawlines—and has been criticised for promoting racial bias, with “whiteness” frequently held as the standard.
Clavicular’s content documents his own pursuits of this ideal, which include unconventional techniques like “mewing” (tongue placement to enhance jaw definition) and far more drastic measures. He has publicly stated using crystal methamphetamine to suppress appetite and has engaged in “bonesmashing,” a dangerous practice involving self-inflicted trauma to alter bone structure.
