Josh Allen Healthy After Foot Surgery, Ready for Offseason

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has fully recovered from the foot surgery he underwent two months ago and is expected to participate fully in the team’s upcoming offseason program. The procedure repaired a broken bone in his right foot, an injury he played through during the previous season. Head coach Joe Brady confirmed Allen’s readiness, describing his quarterback’s resilience as exceptional.

Brady, who was promoted from offensive coordinator after former head coach Sean McDermott was dismissed, told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Allen is “good to go.” He noted that Allen competed last season while visibly limited by the injury, yet his performance remained unaffected. “He got surgery after the season, but he’s playing as if you think there’s nothing wrong with him,” Brady said. “The guy could barely walk, and then he’s playing games… He’s built different.” Brady added that he has been in regular communication with Allen, who is enthusiastic about beginning work with new offensive weapons such as wide receiver DJ Moore.

Allen is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s elite players and enters the season as the betting favorite to win league MVP. However, the team’s repeated playoff appearances without advancing to a Super Bowl ultimately led to McDermott’s departure. Brady’s appointment signals a clear mandate: to build a championship-contending team centered on Allen.

The new head coach begins his first NFL head-coaching role with the significant advantage of a fully healthy franchise quarterback. Allen’s presence is central to the Bills’ aspirations, particularly as the team integrates new personnel and schemes. The offseason program, set to commence on April 6, will be the first step in that process.

Brady’s tenure will be defined by his ability to maximize Allen’s talents and navigate the team past its recent postseason hurdles. With Allen medically cleared and motivated, the focus in Buffalo shifts to execution and preparation for the upcoming season, where Super Bowl contention remains the ultimate goal.
