The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with quarterback Hendon Hooker, continuing the franchise’s efforts to structure its offensive depth. The move, first reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, adds a former third-round selection to a Tennessee roster that currently manages multiple signal-callers ahead of organized team activities.
Hooker, originally drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2023, enters his third professional season. After participating in Detroit’s initial training camp and preseason, he was waived in August during standard league-wide roster reductions. He subsequently joined the Carolina Panthers practice squad, followed by a late-season transition to the New York Jets organization. Hooker spent the final weeks of the 2025 schedule on the New York practice squad before earning a promotion to the active 53-man roster in January. His on-field experience remains limited; he appeared in three regular-season contests during the 2024 season with Detroit, completing six of nine passes for 62 yards.
The signing increases Tennessee’s quarterback count to five for the offseason. The group centers on Cam Ward, selected with the first overall pick in the 2025 draft. The Titans also carry Will Levis, who is progressing through rehabilitation from a shoulder injury that excluded him from game action last season. Mitchell Trubisky and Brandon Allen remain on the roster to provide veteran stability and instructional support during offseason workouts.
NFL regulations require franchises to finalize 53-player active lists before the regular season begins. Managing five quarterbacks necessitates careful evaluation during mandatory minicamps, practice sessions, and preseason exhibitions. Front office personnel will track progression, scheme familiarization, and practice execution before assigning final roster designations. Tennessee will continue standard player assessments through spring drills, with additional transactions expected as coaching staff prepares depth charts for training camp. Roster adjustments will follow standard waiver protocols and practice-squad allocations as the franchise aligns its personnel with competitive deadlines. The organization will monitor positional development through scheduled facility sessions and will announce final roster determinations in accordance with National Football League guidelines.
