Road infrastructure: Over 20 African journalists meet in Tanzania

The General Commission of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE has announced that the Inaugural Conference 2023 is scheduled for April 05, 2023, in Tanzania.

The theme of this year’s conference is: “Sustainable mobility in Africa, lever of development”.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by The General Commissioner, CEO of ACTUROUTES, Barthelemy Kouame.

According to him, “The choice of venue follows the tradition of this continental event which is in its 8th edition this year.

“To this end, the General Commission expresses its deep gratitude to HE Samia Suluhu HASSAN, winner of the Super Prize Great Builder – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE in 2022, who very early expressed the commitment of his government and his people to host the Inaugural Conference 2023.”

He further stated that “more than 20 journalists, from all regions of the continent and forming the Selection Committee, will meet to designate the 2023 winner of the Super Prize Great Builder – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE.

“The Inaugural Conference is also an opportunity to follow various communications on the road and transport in the host country. A visit to road and transport infrastructure by members of the Selection Committee is also planned.

“Finally, the Inaugural Conference aims to promote the host country and its leaders for the achievements recorded in road and transport.”

The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE was created in 2016, in tribute to Dr Babacar NDIAYE, 5th President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), from 1985 to 1995.

The event is sponsored by the AfDB, the organisers said, saluting the President, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA, for his effective commitment to the development of roads and transport in Africa.
