Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has formally briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on her political ambitions.
The meeting, held privately at the president’s Lagos residence, focused on Obasanjo’s intention to contest the governorship of Ogun State. “On Monday in Lagos, I had the privilege of meeting His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Obasanjo said. “Our conversation was insightful and forward-looking, focusing on leadership, governance, and the ongoing development of our nation and Ogun State.”
The former commissioner reaffirmed her loyalty to the ruling party and pledged to actively mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.
