Edo Governor Urges Youths to Enlist in Nigerian Army Recruitment

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has called on eligible young men and women in the state to enlist in the Nigerian Army during the ongoing 91 Regular Recruits Intake.

The appeal follows a scheduled visit by the Nigerian Army’s sensitisation team to Edo State from April 8 to April 14. The team aims to engage with prospective applicants, guide them through the recruitment process, and provide support to ensure a smooth application experience.

Governor Okpebholo emphasised that the recruitment drive presents a valuable opportunity for youths to secure meaningful employment, contribute to national service, and pursue personal development. He encouraged eligible candidates to participate in large numbers to improve the state’s representation and meet its national quota in the Army intake.

“This is a chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers,” the governor said. “I urge all qualified youths to take advantage of this opportunity.”

The governor also called on parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions, and youth organisations to mobilise and encourage eligible candidates within their communities to participate in the exercise.

Interested applicants are advised to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal for detailed information on eligibility criteria, requirements, and application procedures. Governor Okpebholo further stressed the importance of ensuring all necessary documents are complete before presenting themselves at designated sensitisation centres during the stated period.

“The Edo State Government remains committed to creating opportunities for our youths and calls for collective support to ensure the success of this exercise,” he added.

The Nigerian Army’s recruitment initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the country’s armed forces while providing career pathways for young Nigerians. Edo State’s active participation is expected to contribute to the national recruitment goals and enhance the state’s representation in the military.
