Burna Boy Denies Ganging Up with 10 Men Against DJ Tunez, Admits Slapping Him Twice

Afrobeats star Burna Boy has publicly refuted allegations that he was part of a group assault on DJ Tunez, the personal disc jockey of rival artist Wizkid, during a recent nightclub incident. In a live-streamed exchange with fellow musician Shallipopi, the Grammy-winning singer denied claims that he and ten other men attacked the DJ, insisting he acted alone.

Burna Boy admitted to physically confronting DJ Tunez, stating he delivered two slaps during the altercation. He challenged the accuracy of the widely circulated claims, asserting that if a group had been involved, the DJ would have required hospitalisation. The singer further revealed that he remained at the venue for approximately four hours after the incident, anticipating retaliation from DJ Tunez’s associates. Instead, he said, he observed the DJ posting on social media rather than seeking immediate confrontation.

According to Burna Boy, DJ Tunez had been accompanied by several men at the club, but they dispersed upon seeing him. The singer’s remarks appear to counter separate social media statements made by both DJ Tunez and Wizkid, who had previously alleged that Burna Boy had been part of a larger group involved in the incident.

The altercation has drawn significant attention within Nigeria’s music industry, where tensions between leading artists and their entourages occasionally spill into public view. Neither Wizkid nor DJ Tunez has publicly responded to Burna Boy’s latest comments.
